Yes! 37 states allow some items to be sold. Please note each state has its own set of guidelines for the sale of consumer class C 1.4g products; hence, you may want to email us at boomtozoom@aol.com for more specifics.

- Q: I live in (New York, Massachusetts, Delaware, Rhode Island, North Carolina, Alaska etc). Why can I not buy fireworks here?

State laws do not permit the sale and use of fireworks in New York, Massachusetts, Delaware, North Carolina, Rhode Island and Alaska for example. In most cases it is not just the State but it is also DOT that forbids transport thru say Ohio that prevents us from movement of goods to the East Coast.
- Q: How can I know what a particular fireworks item will do?

All Boom Town Fireworks item labels come with instructions on proper usage of the product as well as a full description of what effects you can expect. You can also click on our Video Gallery link to see your favorite Boom Town items in action!
Another source is viewing items on our Boom Town Fireworks Inc channel at youtube.com where you can find a majority of our current aerial cake and fountain pyro product performances.
- Q: Do you have a return policy?

We know of no firework company that will take back fireworks after purchase.
We do have a "no dud policy" that if you bring the item into our store with your receipt we will take your item and exchange it for like item.
We rarely run into a non performance item but all items do come from China and occasionally there can be a manufacturing flaw.. So the answer regarding Boom Town Fireworks return policy is "All Sales are Final" unless you have an item bought at Boom Town that fails to perform. - Q: Can I ship my fireworks order?

Depends on the items in your shopping cart, weight and distance. A majority of the time, we have been successful especially with fulfilling small lot "safe and sane" novelty item orders.
- Q: Do you sell by the case?

A:
Yes but with several qualifiers. 1st we are now dealing with China-USA tax tariffs. 2nd: Our operation is not set up to skid whole pallets of pyrotechnics nor do we have nearby transport companies that have the insurance in place to move 1.4g goods.
Any local case lot order must be placed before Sept 10th for best prices/delivery in the spring. If you have not pre-ordered and just call ahead or show up we may choose to sell case lot on goods we have imported from China or can readily replace with the same like item/price.
Please do not even ask us to wholesale case lot items that we did not import directly and hence are hard to find, rare,and not replaceable at any price.
- Q: What are your hours of operation

We are a family run seasonal business.That said we do not maintain routine store hours until we get into the middle of the month of May. Our regular store hours for the month of June and July can be found on this site and by calling the store in season at 219-864-3800 or feel free to call the owners cell directly at 847-722-6800.

- Q: How do I begin the process of legally being able to buy 1.3g goods?

A:
Process is the key word. You need to contact us at 1-219-781-7751 or 1-219-808-6195 early in the year. Do not wait til May to think about getting your clearances on the Federal, state and local levels to buy class b items.
Getting a B license has many steps, we start with the key first question: Do you live or plan to discharge this b product within a 2 hr drive time of where we store in La Porte,IN?

- Q: What are your in season store hours?

We are a seasonal firework store with the following set hours for 2012.
May 11th thru June 11th 12pm-7pm
June 11th-July 11th 10 am to 10 pm
All Sundays during these two months we are open 12pm-7pm.
Out of Season:
Open for New Year's Eve Dec 31st 12pm- 8pm
Otherwise
You must call 847-722-6800 and arrange a time to shop, do not just drive to Boom Town Fireworks and hope we are available..
- Q: How do I know how the item is packaged?

Firework contents as a general rule are shipped to us in case lots that can be bulk goods or put into display cartons that allows the goods to be sold by the case, by the box or by an individual piece.

- Q: How old do you have to be to buy fireworks?

Yuu must be 18 years of age. If you are younger than 18, please bring someone who is 18 or older who will pay for the items selected.
- Q: I just wanted to know do i need a permit to buy a class B firework? if so do your company provide a form to get a class B permit and how will it take for it to get approve thank and have a wonderful day

It's complicated!
Basically it is doing each step in the right sequence.

- Q: Do you require a pyrotechnics license to purchase Class B items?

A:
It's not us. It is the federal government who regulates 1.3g sales. So the answer is Yes, you must obtain a BATF type 54 "pink slip" first, then a contingency storage letter ( that's where we are key) and then there are a few more steps to being 100% legal in your discharge of 1.3g goods.

- Q: What are your store hours out of season?

We do not have set "Out of season" hours; hence, you must call first to arrange to have the store doors open so you can shop.
The owner does not live close by and I have to arrange with staff to open the store doors.
It is amazing how many people do not think about needing an item say sparklers til the day
of their event. THINK AHEAD if it is not MAY, JUNE, JULY.
We have been opening our store doors and inconveniencing staff for years and years with
small under $50 orders. If you are truly say spending a decent amount for an event, we
will be happy to help but we need a phone call a day or two in advance.
- Q: I am filling out my paperwork for my Type 54 License and I was wondering if you guys store class B material until the day of a customers show. I am looking to use a contingency plan on my application as I do not have a magazine. Is this something you do for your 1.3G customers?

Yes, We provide contingency storage letters if you are purchasing your B stock from us and meet our requirements.
- Q: Do you ship to new york?

No, there are about 12 states that ban or highly regulate transport thru or into their states. New York is one that bans all pyrotechnics.
- Q: Do you give price breaks for ordering by the case? I am particularly interested in two 1.4g consumner 500g fan cakes from Winda, "Pyro Club" and "Let There B Zoom"

Yes. It is cheaper to buy a case than retail shelf.
Sometimes we only have a limited " try out" amount of an item and it is meant for our retail customers first and foremost.
If you want a case say in May and we are not shorting our retail floor in season, we can do so.

Freight carriers require hazmat endorsement to move 1.4g goods- that is $75 dollars alone plus it costs time,gasoline etc

Each case item, interior box count can vary.
General rule of thumb- items are packaged as a gross ( 144) or a half gross (72) in a case.
